Tarakura and the Rangitaiki plains

Kia ora bloggers,

The past week we have been reading a book named Tarakura and the Rangitaiki plains. We know a lot about it now and we had to write a summary about the book.

Here is my summary:
Their once lived a brave chief and warrior and his name Iratumoana. Their was a taniwha that was haunting Iratumoanas village and Tarakura kept on eating people so Iratumoana had to do something about it. Iratumoana went to go and kill Tarakura and he succeeded.

We had to create a weapon that we recon Iratumoana could of used to defeat Tarakura.

Waikowhai intermediate

Kia Ora bloggers,

Yesterday all of the year sixes were lucky enough to got to Waikowhai intermediate and discover what it is going to be like next year when we move on to intermediate.

We weren't the only school there we were also there with Waikowhai primary school and were put in four groups full of Waikowhai kids and Hay Park kids. In our groups were some year eight councilors helping us out and telling us about the places we were at.

One thing I am really looking forward to doing is meeting new people and learning new things.Their are a lot of things at HPS (Hay Park School) that I will be missing like my friends and all the wonderful teachers at this wonderful school.

Soccer reflection

Kia bloggers,
Recently we had the opportunity for Dan (our soccer couch) to come and give us some advice on how to play soccer. He taught us some fun games and a lot of skills on top of that.

After these soccer lessons we have learnt a lot of valuable things that got to do with soccer. We learnt the rules and how to follow them. He taught us to collaborate with the ball and be respectful, responsible and resilient on the field.
